Road Trip Day 1: Bulverde to Springfield, Missouri

Today my dad and I left to begin our journey to Chi-Town (thats gangsta for "Chicago"). For my last night in town I got to spend time with my family before I finished up all of my last minute packing (which I told my mom I was done with. sorry mom, turns out I still had a lot to do). My mom and I met my dad and sister at Incredible Pizza. It's one of those pizza places full of games and what have you. You know the type. It was a lot of fun. We played ski-ball, and I decided that this game may be one of the leading causes of scoliosis.

The entire night it still seemed like this journey I was about to embark on wasn't even real. The whole process has been about 8 or so months in the making, and to think that there was only one more night in town before I leaft was strange. My family means the world to me, and the longest I have ever been away from them has been for a month on two different occasions while doing summer staff for YoungLife. Even this morning as we got in the truck to head out, I couldn't imagine not being able to see my family whenever I wanted to. It will be hard for us all, but I know that we will be fine.

For those of you that know my family and are still in the area, you should pop your head in on random occasions and say hello. You might be able to get cookies, or even a full meal out of them if you stop by at the right time.

Weather just got messy here, and I want to eat at Cracker Barrel, so I'm heading out. But thanks to everyone who has been a part of this whole process. Thanks especially to my family for putting up with me and my crazy, often random itinerary for my life.

Next time I post I will be an official Chicagonite. Prepare yourselves.

Hey, maybe we can get someone to mow our lawn while you are in Chicago. Any takers? For chocolate chip cookies?
